ABOUT GETTING STARTED. . .

**If this is your first time taking swing dancing, we recommend starting with the Basic Swing class (level 1) on Wednesdays.

**If you've already had some swing dance experience , check out our schedule page to see how our classes are structured. Or, visit us, and we can help you decide which level is most appropriate for you.

**If you can't come to regularly scheduled group classes , there are a number of other options:

  • Workshops offer the benefits of a group class without the weekly commitment

  • Private lessons can be scheduled at your convenience and offer more personal attention.

  • Semi-private lessons are for you and a small group of friends. Just like a private lesson, you schedule the classes at your convenience, plus you get more personal attention than in a regular group class.

Once you have decided which class to take

NO PARTNER IS NECESSARY.

You never have to bring a partner to any of our classes (except for aerials). To help students improve more quickly, we rotate dance partners in class. This helps you learn true lead-and-follow skills and makes it easy to meet new friends.

WHAT TO WEAR . . .

  • Comfortable clothes and shoes are a must, as swing dancing can be a vigorous activity. We don't recommend high heels or flip-flops. Remember, you will be on your feet and dancing for at least one hour.
  • Wear deodorant. Sometimes we get really close.
  • Please do not wear black rubber-soled shoes! They leave marks on the floor.
  • In case of bad weather, please bring a second, dry pair of shoes to dance in.
